Why You Shouldn’t Promote Black Lives Matter Movement

Black Lives Matter

On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46- year old black American man, was killed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during an arrest for allegedly using a counterfeit bill. Derek Chauvin, a white police officer, knelt on Floyd’s neck for almost eight minutes. The video went so viral on the internet that it almost flooded in every social media account. Almost every user who is using internet from anywhere around the world knows about this this movement called as “Black Lives Matter”. If you don’t know then for your kind information Black Lives Matter is an organized movement in the United States which was founded by Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, Opal Tometi on 13th July 2013.

The sole purpose was to advocate for non-violent civil disobedience in protest against incidence of police brutality against African-American people.

This Pandemic has brought a spotlight for the awareness of this movement not only in United States, but in every country around the world. Why do people are supporting this movement? There is a common thought that white people are given utmost respect than the black ones.

Before this there was an issue in those olden days called as “GENDER DIFFERENCE”. Man was thought to be the dominant gender. Thus laws were passed and gradually people came to know the value of females in the society. According to the freedom of equality everyone is supposed to be equal and this is neither hidden anywhere.

You should feel great living in the 21st Century because a majority of myths have been blasted off from the culture. In India, a female is supposed to not enter a temple (holy place) at the time of her periods or also called menstruation.

The main belief behind this thought is that they are supposed to be impure. The term “MENSTRUATION” becomes a problem for them. Which women doesn’t menstruate? Afterwards, people started criticizing this belief. It scanned through many eyes and some of them stood against this belief.

If you closely observe that the ones who are suffering will stand up against those problems. When females are suffering through this problem, they will take the support and form up unity to dissolve the issue. If black community is suffering through this problem, they will form the unity or group to stand up against that kind of society.

No one wants to suffer from discrimination or racism because humans are said to be free. “HUMANS ARE SAID TO BE FREE”, this is the line we realize that we all have equal rights. Remember when there is a discrimination against those kind of people then they might form up a unity, a group, or an organization.

Such as the black lives matter is a kind of organization for the black community. But what if the problem is only with you? What if the whole world is against you? No one supports your problem or helps you in finding up a solution for it. What will you do in such a situation where no one can understand you?

If you ask a normal and sensitive person such kind of question, he or she will definitely reply with, “That’s what life is. We need to bear it.” If you ask the same question to a person who is an influencer and has dominant power then he or she might speak against it.

He or she won’t bear that pain and might use some political means to fight with them. Of Course we have freedom but if you think about this matter in depth then no political or even justice might solve your problem.

“Reality Is Far Different From Theory. Imaginations Work With Your Theoretical Knowledge. But At Last We All Are Fighting With The Reality.”

We all love our school days. Right? Because of the way we get to learn. Schools are supposed to be the primary source of friendships and true bonds for some people. There are so many things to learn in life that a school can’t teach you each one of those lessons separately.

And that’s why syllabus was invented. In order to educate students, they go through some common concepts or lessons which will at least help students to learn. That’s the main idea of a school. To educate people with common topics for their survival.

When students are promoted to higher standards, their level of understanding increases. They get to know how to deal with questions and answers. They get to know how to solve their papers by themselves. So in higher level education, we are required to choose a specific field which will help us to gain that specific job.

After passing the examinations, candidates are recruited for campus placements. This helps them to enter that interview. If you are an interviewee and an interviewer asks you a question which is related to your syllabus, then you will answer that question if you have understood it properly.

They might select you and place you at a specific job. But now after juggling through examinations and results you might get a seat of the lowest position. At that time a school won’t help you to promote inside that hierarchy.

A school provides conceptual knowledge but at last it depends on that organization which will handle that decision of your promotion. Depending upon the level of your performance they might do what they like. So that’s completely controlled by them.

Your life can be totally controlled by someone else if you let to do it. There are two options “TO GIVE UP” or “TO FIGHT AGAINST IT”. But before just choosing “TO FIGHT AGAINST IT” know the results. A movement like Black Lives Matter will bring a certain kind of awareness for the people surrounding you.

The ones who are suffering through those similar situation might also join the movement. But before joining this movement just take time and think who you are fighting against. Are you fighting against the Government, the justice, society or with the culture of the country?

Someone will say with the Government, other victims will say with the Justice and some people will point towards the society. Even if some day a strict law gets passed for the protection and equality of those people, but will it be enough to change the society? Even if someone tries to present the end results but will it be enough to change everyone’s perspective?

“Don’t Try To Fix Everyone’s Perspective. Some People Will Adore While Some Will Hurt. But it’s You Who Will Decide What To Incur.”

It might sound lame but there is a term called “Profit” and “Loss”. Even if people actively participate in movements but at the end of the day they are looking for their own benefits. No one will spend their personal time for the things, which doesn’t give any benefit to themselves.

Financially and emotionally stable people might support a movement in order to win the truth. But even after winning over the justice, will the society change?

You can try to change someone’s perspective by explaining your problems but it depends on that person to accept that perspective. If they don’t accept your perspective, then there is nothing you can do. You cannot force someone to accept your thoughts.

“Don’t Try To Change Everyone’s Perspective. Work For Your Struggles. Accept Myths And Move Forward. Your Success Is The Only Way To Clear Beliefs.”

Everyone Will Support You When You Prove Yourself

I would say in the world of beliefs, myths, discrimination, racism, you can still succeed and live your dreams. The most popular exam is the ex-president of United States himself. Yes! It is “BARACK OBAMA”. Now don’t say it was because of politics or any kind of influence by his power.

Around more than 75 percent of country’s population consists of the white people. So even in the white population there are good people too. You cannot complain why the world is in such a manner because those complaints don’t make any sense.

Barack Obama himself being from the black community was elected as the President. No one thought about his background because that was the aim for which he was always working for. There might be his wife or community people themselves, who supported him but at last that success was only possible because of his determination, hard work and will power.

21st Century has made people realize about their surroundings and what really matters to them. Before this hardly any people realized the importance of education because of beliefs and myths. Myths about women might still be there but it has been reduced as much as possible.

People are realizing the importance of freedom and equality. Though the incident which happened with George Floyd infuriated millions of people, but we tend to forget the better side of the world.

We shouldn’t forget that we are lucky to live this beautiful human life. At last we need to make the best from it. A movement might create awareness, but you cannot hate the world because of skin color. Remember, it doesn’t matter who agrees or disagrees with your opinion, at last you need to prove yourself through your struggles.
