Why You Should Post Less On Social Media

Post

Who doesn’t love to socialise? Especially the young age generation who always post their status, pics every day and never get tired off. Wherever they go or even if they are at homes having lunch or dinner, they will post some or other thing. It’s not only you but a lot of people are doing this in order to get likes follows and comments.

But what will you get by these comments, likes or follows. Are you going to become a major sensation or something like a superstar? Chill dude those follows and like are just from your friends and colleagues, don’t be under the wrong impression that you will be a major overnight sensation.

It happens to a few people but they are truly dedicated towards that work and require years of struggle. Why are you showing off your photos, just ask this to yourself? Are you trying to show off your skills? Even if there is no reason or a desire to attract your close relations, then remember it is exposing you to a lot of unwanted risks, which you might never know.

Yes, even if you have a small community but the current social media platform is causing a lot of threat. Especially due to the ideology of people. The ideology of people is changing due to the unworthy knowledge they acquire through their friends or colleagues. Grandfather or our parents who are in thirty’s or forty’s haven’t seen that beauty of social media. And they aren’t also interested because they are following their parent’s tradition.

The older generation was more interested in growing their knowledge and speaking worthy thoughts. Even if some of them had toxic mentality, but they never kept it in their hearts or mind like we do right now. Since in those times there were no mobiles or gadgets, people used to talk about it straight forward on the face.

Even if we think that social media make us connected, since we are at a very long distance with some people, but it is actually becoming a bane to the society. It’s not like the other person will teleport from that place and directly pop up in front physically. Social media is called bad for mental health because individuals are connected through a tool.

You can reject, if you don’t want to talk, block that person so that it can form hurt or deep rooted wound and so many things can be done through social media. There is no face to Face conversation in the reality and because of this it gives rise to doubts. People start doubting because there is no straight forward talk, which leads to disturbance.

Even if you call that person but he/she might reject it which also gives rise to trust issues and doubts. So social media has changed our perspectives and since we are spending more time on it, for sharing memes and posting photos, we are definitely losing our productivity.

THE COMMENT SECTION MAKE US FEEL UNWORTHY

We all know that almost every social media platform has a comment section where people can share their views or thoughts. They can comment and tell the creator what they think. Remember comment section is free and anyone can comment to elaborate ideas or share their views. But the social media users of 21st century are taking this seriously and are using this freedom at a very next level.

Comment section is vital when a creator wants to know that what is wrong with the content. A creator of course won’t like if no one shares their views because they always are in need of a feedback especially when the creator is new to the field.

And many times these inexperienced creators become prey of their own expectations. These expectations are basically pulled off through our passion of working. Take an example, suppose you are working in a restaurant as a waiter and a guest scolds you for no reason. He is drunk or something but he constantly troubles you. So you will feel that even after doing so much of good work, he is not appreciating.

But whenever you approach or serve other people, they are always appreciating you because of your kind and gentle service. Social media is never like this because even the appreciative people too make bad comments. This is because it doesn’t reveal identity. Even if people like it, but they won’t appreciate it or try to congratulate you because there are some other thoughts too which they want to speak and it is basically toxic to even digest.

When you are in front of someone physically, you will appreciate, but when it comes to social media, you can give your honest suggestion or review, isn’t it? This is how social media is playing with our own feelings. Everyone has freedom but they use it in inappropriate manner and that is why so many content creators go through mental heal issues.

You might be thinking that how it is affecting common people who are working on their daily jobs? So let me know that have you ever messaged you crush or your partner through social media? Have you ever made friendships through the social platform? If it is true then you might have also communicated through this source. Isn’t it? And now think about your mother or grandfather who had dated when they were young like you.

You might feel like that how that was even possible to propose? It was still possible because there was no form of source like we have. And the most important part was that because of no tools like we have right now, the amount of so called “cheating” was extremely low. They never posted their current status, and most importantly they were straightforward kind of people.

I might write here thousands of things but most importantly those habits won’t change. I now this is the current scenario and we cannot stop ourselves because social media is a form of addiction. And once we become prey, we cannot quit because we constantly need it to see the current updates. But there is a way you can still use it and safe guard you mental health. So I will give you few tips.

1. Post When Required

Don’t post without any emergency. Use social media to fight and solve problems. If you use it for uploading your personal photos or sharing some unwanted shit, then please be aware. As I explained that comment section is very toxic.

2. Don’t Waste Your Time In Commenting And Liking

A lot of people have this common problem of liking randomly whatever it comes on the screen. And it has given rise to spamming. We are literally spamming our feed. And don’t please, it’s a request, stop commenting and stop providing some unnecessary suggestions. We too are contributing to this hurting system. Remember.

3. Limit The Use Of Social media And Post

Last but not the least that limit its use. Fix a proper schedule and make sure you don’t use beyond it. If you don’t have control over yourself then there are also some apps on Playstore for android phones and apple phones which can limit their screen times and it is available for the newer version too. This is the main point of the entire topic because that is how we will be able to secure ourselves.
