Why We Should Not Try To Be Perfect

PerfectOne of the common reasons you are trying to aim for perfection is to win. People who aim to be perfect always have a common goal in mind and that is to be the best and the only winner in the competition. But this imagination remains for a temporary period of time. After that we are kicked out by the reality.

If this is the reality then why don’t we get to know at that time itself? The problem is with our mind, when we are new to something, we all have a common goal and that is to become the master of that game. Isn’t it? And that’s where we go wrong. We can’t become master unless and until we get to know what exactly is happening inside.

Majority of people can only observe the external beauty, but no one tries to measure the depth of problems with equivalent solutions, which are required to be found out by ourselves. No one will tell you how to solve a problem when you are in an exam hall. No one will tell you what to answer on surprising questions asked in an interview.

Actually no matter how much we aim for perfection but no one in this world can become absolute flawless. This is because we all have been blessed with it. If you are talking about a specific field then too there are chances that a person can commit mistakes. Most of the people think is that gaining a lot of experience will help to gain perfectionism.

It is a myth because even if you have enough experience in a particular field but still you cannot maintain accuracy. And the scientific reason behind this is that we become tired. When you play or work for a longer period of time you will get stressed. So it’s not only you but even the professionals who are masters of stress management suffer through breakdown.

At some point one has to give up. From our childhood we have been saying this that to be perfect all the time but no tries to give damn about the reality. No one tries to see what is really happening with those who are working for perfection. The truth is that we have to lose. And at the same time there are people who try to demotivate others since they know what the reality is.

You might have come across your colleagues who do everything in order to achieve their goals. And then their seniors try to demotivate them by telling the truth and failures they had to face about the field they want to work in. So these seniors try to manipulate the juniors by inserting a fear and this can even lose their moral.

You might have faced such situations in your life too and yes they are very common. But the main part is that at least you have to try in order to achieve some kind of stability. Since others have told you that you can’t be perfect, this doesn’t mean you won’t even try. You can’t be perfect but at least you can be near to it.

Burnout

WE ARE BOUND TO BECOME OVER PRODUCTIVE CAUSING BURNOUT

This can be explained through a very relatable situation. Suppose you are given a task to complete twenty loops of a stadium. And you have been given a day to complete it. The total length of the 20 rounds is around 20 kilometres. You are a sport person with extraordinary skills. And you have that capacity to complete the 20 rounds in just two hours.

So in this situation will you try to complete it within an hour or run with your own pace? Some people can call this as success as you might be the best runner in the competition. While thinking about the capacity and training you have done this is actually impossible. And even if you are able to do it, then it will lead to injury or you will become completely tired what we call as burnout.

This can be even called as stupidity because you never know what will happen if you cross those limits. So if you want to cross your limits then you need to practise it first. You can’t take that step in order to impress your audience or think of achieving great heights. There are people in this world who have this tendency when they feel that they can break every record.

And when they hurt themselves they are not able to recover from that condition. Perfection in this case can cause burnout. You might become over productive but for a certain period of time. And after that your productivity will become unstable.

Perfection

AIM FOR CONSISTENCY AND NOT PERFECTION

Success says that if you are consistent then you will always win. Life is worthless if you think about winning once and losing for the entire lifetime. Consistency is the problem not for me or you but for each one of us. This is because humans are not able to maintain the balance between their work, relationships, passion and job. When one of the part falls down then the entire system becomes unstable.

We suffer through mood swings, emotional trauma and lack of motivation. The problem doesn’t arise by itself, but it’s we who create this problem for ourselves. When you try to become perfect you only focus on that particular subject. Then what about others you might have that question. And the answer is simple that we ignore them.

We ignore that particular area for a long period of time which is equally important for our living. Because of ignorance we get irritated and lose the concentration while aiming for perfection. So it’s important to focus more on being consistent. Perfectionists no matter how much great heights they achieve but there are other key areas which always inhibit their overall growth.

So it all depends on your mindset. If you are trying to aim for perfection then you need to also think about some serious consequences you will have to face in the future.
