When we see someone doing wrong, we point out their mistakes and tell them the right way to do it. Just like while solving a mathematics problem, a teacher will show a complete procedure and want all those steps written on the answer sheet. If not done correctly as per her way then she will find out the way to cut those marks and then it will be called as your flaws. Even if the answer is correct, but the presentation is wrong according to the view of the moderator.
Okay, so now you will go back in the staff room and fight with her in order to return those hard earned marks. And what she will do then, cut some extra marks! This has happened to a lot of people who try to act like an enemy with the teacher. Then there are some students who always try to butter their teacher, lick their feet to gain extra marks. Surely that is not the way to deal with the problem.
One shouldn’t try to degrade self-respect in order to achieve something. We need to play fair no matter how rude the other person is. So in this case we need to follow the teacher’s orders. But do you think that she is telling you and the entire class without any purpose? Of course not and no one want to, but then think about the external examiner and moderators.
Some schools and colleges need to follow the strict format and the pattern to check answer sheets. Just think that if the teacher starts giving marks for free, then all of them will demand for it. Surely if teacher doesn’t care about her job then she will distribute marks for free. Absolutely! And if she doesn’t want to get kicked out from the school or the college, then she won’t even try to get involved in that kind of drama ever.
She will only stick to few students who support her. That’s the simple explanation. But can it be called as a flaw? Remember, she is acting as per the situation and not according to her values. A lot of people get confused between flaws and a situational limitations. What we think is that a person who is not able to do that particular thing means, it is his flaws.
When we took the above example, the teacher could give extra marks for free to everyone but not all of them. And that is because of the conditions which restricted her from doing so. Similarly in reality we mark flaws of someone depending upon what we observe. So what does a flaw mean?
Most of you might not know its meaning. According to the English dictionary a flaw is a mark or any other kind of imperfection which can degrade the value of something or someone. Before even diving deep we must always keep in mind that flaws are never based on situation because they stay for a longer period of time.
Even if you try to judge someone on the basis of values but that necessarily doesn’t mean he or she will entitled as his/her weakness for entire life.
YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING WRONG
Suppose you are preparing for an entrance examination and you have a limited time to study. You go through past question papers and make notes of some important questions which are always repeated or a set of similar questions. You prepare thoroughly and don’t waste a minute during your daily hours of preparation.
You put down every effort and make sure that nothing goes in vain. But here is an issue. You haven’t taken any kind of mock tests to know about your preparation results. You are pretty damn sure that you will score the best rank in the first attempt itself. You truly believe that your one shot will truly rank you to the highest point.
That is the level of confidence and faith you keep in yourself. You answer every question correctly during your preparation time, but when you get your results in your hands, your expectations pulls down. And slowly it becomes unhealthy for your mind to accept it. This is the case of those students who try to keep faith in their work without knowing where they are going wrong.
Do you know what the trick of those successful students who always score high is? It is because of huge number of tests they give before appearing for their final exams. Those tests help them to know where they are going wrong and where they are actually standing. It’s not only just those tests, but one should be sure to check where they are actually going wrong.
A change in strategy can give far better results than the traditional method. Over-confidence in such type of people is always high and then it creates unwanted problems. They never know where they are going wrong, and then cry over and over again when they are kicked out by the reality.
AWARENESS ABOUT OUR CERTAIN STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
It’s one of the standing point for people who are very serious with their growth and development. In order to grow you need to first know what are really your weaknesses and strengths. This information is said to be vital because when you are trying to compete with other people, you will have this complete information stored in your mind, so that when you are on the action platform, you will be able to successfully beat them.
Awareness of certain flaws will absolutely help in decision making process. Do you know why certain decisions we take for ourselves and for our future fail? This is because of this reason. When we are not aware of our flaws then how can we expect for a decision to become successful.
If we are aware of our strengths and weaknesses in advance then, it will surely help us in deciding what is the best thing to do. One another point to note is that after gaining some awareness of our flaws we need to take the responsibility of improvement. Some people are aware of their flaws, but they never take necessary steps at that time.
They carry on and wait for the future timeline. Remember a change won’t happen to you automatically. You have to put your efforts into it or else it will only remain as a flaw. Most of the people who are lethargic and lazy postpone their actions.
They wait and wait until they come to a point where creating change seems to be impossible. Having awareness of our flaws is important but in order to grow you need to take necessary actions and that is how you will gain positive results.
